Travelling by car to Saudi Arabia from Bahrain can seem daunting. Here is a step by step guide to make your journey as easy as possible. Remember the speed limit is 100 kmph.

• Make sure you purchase your car insurance for Saudi. This office is on the right hand side as you approach the Causeway.

• Drive to the first toll and pay 2.5 BD.

• Drive onto the Causeway.

• At the next checkpoint you will be given a small customs paper, hold onto this.

• Drive onto the next checkpoint which is Bahrain Passport Control.

• If it is the first time of entry to Saudi Arabia you will need to have finger prints taken. Follow signs to the porta cabin on the right hand side of the road where your finger prints will be taken.

• Drive to Saudi checkpoint and handover your passport and the original customs paper. This will be stamped and handed back.

• Drive to Saudi customs where you must get out of your car and the contents of the car will be checked.

• Hand over the customs paper to be stamped again.

• Leave the customs bay and pass through a final checkpoint where the stamped customs paper will be collected.
