Whisk yourself away to Abu Dhabi for the weekend
Whether you’re seeking cultural experiences, thrilling adventures, or relaxing beach days, Abu Dhabi has something for everyone.

Day 1
Start your weekend adventure with a short flight from Bahrain to Abu Dhabi. Gulf Air, Air Arabia and Etihad are a few of the many airlines that take you into the lovely Zayed International Airport. It’s huge so make sure you have comfortable shoes on for the walk to Immigration! Once checked into your hotel, head straight to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world. This architectural marvel is a must-see, with its stunning white domes and intricate designs. Remember to dress modestly as it is a place of worship. Ladies must keep their hair covered and wear an abaya (provided on arrival) and men must not wear shorts. This is such a beautiful mosque where photographs are encouraged. The underground walkway takes you past many shops where you can buy appropriate clothing or the staff will lend you on arrival at the mosque.
After soaking in the beauty of the mosque, make your way via taxi to Qasr Al Watan, the Presidential Palace. This cultural landmark offers a glimpse into the UAE’s rich heritage and governance. The palace’s opulent interiors and lush gardens are perfect for a leisurely afternoon. End your day with a visit to the Louvre Abu Dhabi. The Louvre, with its impressive collection of art and artifacts, is a testament to architecture and cultural exchange. Enjoy a quiet evening exploring the exhibits and the stunning architecture of the museum, followed by dinner in Fouquets French restaurant. The food is delicious and if it is not too hot outside, dine under the stars next to the new Guggenheim museum.
Day 2
Kick off your second day with a visit to Ferrari World on Yas Island. This theme park is home to the world’s fastest roller coaster, Formula Rossa, and offers a thrilling experience for all ages. For a more relaxed afternoon, head to Saadiyat Island. The island’s pristine beaches are perfect for sunbathing and swimming. Enjoy a laid-back evening at the Saadiyat Beach Golf Club. The Family BBQ Par-Tee offers a delightful mix of flame-grilled favourites, live entertainment, and kid-friendly activities, alternatively head to Niri in the Mamsha area of Saadiyat Island. Here you will find a selection of excellent restaurants and a great vibe throughout the day.
Day 3
Spend your final morning exploring the Heritage Village. This reconstructed village offers a glimpse into the traditional Bedouin way of life. Participate in food workshops, Arabic coffee-making demonstrations and spray yourself with wonderful oud scents. Before heading back to Bahrain, take a leisurely stroll along the Abu Dhabi Corniche. This waterfront promenade offers stunning views of the city skyline and is a great place to relax and reflect on your weekend adventure.
