Keep cool, keep calm and make summer work
With the heat rising now in Bahrain, a little planning goes a long way. Here’s how to survive (and enjoy) hot days with kids:
Beat the Heat
Head out early (before 9am) or later in the evening. Save parks, beaches and outdoor play for cooler hours.
Bring on the Water
Paddling pools, water guns, splash pads, anything water-based is an instant win. Freeze drinks overnight for extra refreshment.
Plan Indoor Escapes
Break up the day with soft play, cafés with kids’ areas, cinemas, or bowling. A little outing can reset everyone’s mood.
Keep a Simple Routine
Structure helps:
• Morning: activity
• Midday: quiet time
• Afternoon: water play
• Evening: short outing
Dress Light
Opt for cotton or linen, hats and UV rash vests when in the water. Always pack a spare outfit.
Snack Smart
Think hydrating and light, fruit, yogurt, smoothies and frozen treats.
Slow It Down
Not every day needs a plan. Some of the best moments are the simplest ones at home.
Stay cool, stay flexible and always have snacks ready (useful for hungry dads too!)
