Ideas for the weekend – Sunset walks and a visit to Al Fateh Grand Mosque

Need some weekend inspiration? Here are a few ideas

The Al Fateh Grand Mosque is one of the largest Mosques in the world. Open to visitors, it offers guided tours where you can learn about Islamic architecture, traditions, and practices. The Mosque’s stunning design, with its large dome and intricate calligraphy, is an architectural marvel worth seeing. Book a tour in advance, we recommend lovely Hasher from Airhome Travels.

Just before sunset, as the heat of the day cools off, take a drive to Nurana, an undeveloped reclaimed island just north of Budaiya Highway. The large island is a good place for a walk and has great views back over Manama. Take a few cool drinks or a picnic and watch the sky turn orange as the sun sets. If you’re lucky you’ll see the local flamingos standing in the shallow water. You can also go horse riding here with local guides. Contact Kashta Tours.
