Stress Free Summer Travel

Summer holidays are finally here, and whether you’re heading abroad or enjoying a staycation, a little preparation can make all the difference.
Our Connect Bahrain Tips for Stress-Free Summer Travel
1. Book Airport Extras Early
Parking, airport lounges and transfers are often cheaper when booked in advance, helping you save both money and stress.
2. Pack Smarter, Not Heavier
Choose versatile clothing that can be mixed and matched. Rolling clothes rather than folding them can also help maximise suitcase space.
3. Keep Essentials in Your Hand Luggage
Always carry medications, travel documents, chargers, a change of clothes and any valuables in your cabin bag.
4. Stay Hydrated
We’re used to it in Bahrain but remember that air travel and hot summer temperatures can quickly lead to dehydration. Carry a reusable water bottle and drink regularly throughout your journey. This is useful to reduce spillages on the plane too.
5. Bring a Small Travel Surprise for Children
A simple new book, colouring set, sticker activity, puzzle or small toy can be a lifesaver during a long flight. Wrapping it up and giving it to children once onboard adds an extra element of excitement and helps keep boredom at bay. Or better still take the Fun Zone pull-out from our Summer edition!
6. Download Before You Go
Save boarding passes, hotel confirmations, books and entertainment before travelling in case Wi-Fi is unavailable. Not long until we have Starlink wifi on Gulf Air…
7. Plan for Delays
Flights and road journeys can be unpredictable during peak summer months. Pack snacks, entertainment and patience. We always pack extra snacks for hungry husbands too.
8. Protect Yourself from the Sun
Sunglasses, sunscreen, hats and lightweight cover-ups are essential, particularly when travelling with children.
9. Be Spontaneous
It’s great to have a plan, but some of the best travel memories come from unexpected discoveries and unplanned adventures.
10. Put the Phone Down
Capture the photos, then take time to enjoy the moment. Some of the best holiday memories aren’t the ones posted online.
Safe travels and happy summer adventures!
